The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 233

This was Zi Han’s voice bouncing off the walls while going through a rollercoaster of emotions when it was his turn.

Because he didn’t trust Yi Chen with this he decided to go with the professional. But who would have thought when the time came the woman’s face would be so terrifying?

She looked like the wicked witch from snow white watching him fall into her clutches. Zi Han couldn’t help but try to talk his way out of it or at least buy some time.

Yi Chen couldn’t watch this anymore thus he walked over and gestured to her to take a break. The woman who looked like she had been granted amnesty got up and walked away.

Yi Chen sat down and placed his cool palm on Zi Han’s neck. Their eyes collided for a moment making Zi Han feel some type of way inside. He was the first to look away feeling slightly embarrassed.

“Didn’t you say you want to work with me in the future?” he asked his voice low enough that it was drowned by the background yammering happening behind them.

Zi Han turned his body slightly to lie on his side. He cleared his throat and spoke a little hesitantly. “I did,” he replied while placing his hand over Yi Chen’s that was still resting on his neck.

“Didn’t you say that you will have my back and I will have yours?” he asked again but Zi Han’s chest felt heavy hearing this. He said it all and Yi Chen putting it out in the open just made him feel worse.

.....

“Yes, I did but.... it looks really painful,” said Zi Han rubbing his thumb on the back of Yi Chen’s hand.

Yi Chen pressed his lips together for a while before lowering his head and whispering into his ear, “Let me do it for you. I promise it won’t be as painful,” with his lips lightly brushing Zi Han’s ear lobe.

Zi Han quickly covered his ear with his hand and glared at Yi Chen before saying, “You should talk nicely what is the point of whispering in my ear? It’s not like like you are whispering some sort of secret.”

Zi Han tore off Yi Chen’s mask but Yi Chen didn’t even feel guilty about it. He was trying to seduce Zi Han into getting this tattoo done and like a gullible idiot, Zi Han was tempted.

With a half smile on his face, Yi Chen pulled over the equipment in preparation. Zi Han watched Yi Chen’s long fingers pick up the grafting skin thin-like paper that was meant to blend in with his and he suddenly recalled the badge he took from that man who tried to kill him.

He took it and said, “Mm..... can you find out who this belongs to?”

Yi Chen’s brow furrowed slightly as he took the green badge with quails flying onto the horizon. He had seen this badge before. As the future Marshal, he had to memorize all crests and symbols belonging to powerful families and criminals alike.

He knew this was from one of these interstellar pirates Zi Xingxi personally burnt to the ground.

“Why?” he asked in a serious tone.

“I need to find his employer. The man tried to kill us both,” replied Zi Han in a casual tone like he was discussing the weather.

Yi Chen, “....”

His father was already looking into this matter but who would have thought the person also targeted Zi Han and Zi Han waited this long to tell him about it?

Yi Chen called over Li Ran who was still sober enough to do some hacking. Li Ran held the badge in between his fingers before yelling, “Don’t worry sister-in-law. I will find out who was paying him!”

Zi Han, “....”

Okay, he was wrong. The man was definitely too drunk to do anything tonight.

Zi Han sat up and wanted to retort but Yi Chen didn’t give him a chance at all. He pressed Zi Han down and said in a deep voice, “Don’t move,” activating the docile voice-con within Zi Han.

“Okay,” he responded obediently that he only realized what he had done much later. Since when did he start listening to Yi Chen without putting up a fight? This was really strange.

Yi Chen immediately began to work on Zi Han’s tattoo before he could change his mind. His expression was serious but if one looked closely they could see that his expression was more sullen than serious.

Why was he sulking? That’s because Zi Han didn’t tell him about the guy who tried to kill him. Like always Zi Han would adopt the same attitude which was ‘it’s not important that’s why I didn’t tell you’ a viewpoint Yi Chen didn’t appreciate very much.

An example of what would be considered unimportant would be something like finding a carton of milk on special in the store. Did someone trying to kill him look like it was on the same scale as buying milk at a special price?

Zi Han could feel the suffocating air surrounding them. Thinking that Yi Chen was upset about him throwing a fuss about getting his tattoo done Zi Han didn’t dare move. Even when it stung he just closed his eyes tightly.

As Yi Chen looked down at those tightly shut eyes he endured the urge to stop. He paid serious attention to what he was doing. Just as he was finishing tracing it he suddenly felt a hand clutching his pants.

He paused and looked down only to find Zi Han’s hand clutching at his pants until his knuckles turned white. Yi Chen looked back at Zi Han’s neck and asked, “Do you need a break?”

Zi Han didn’t open his eyes instead he replied, “Ah uh..... just let me hold you like this for a while.”

Yi Chen felt all his irritation from before disappear. How could he stay mad at Zi Han for long? It didn’t take much for Zi Han to coax him.

As soon as they were done Zi Han made sure to benefit by using the pain he just endured as an excuse.

He made sure Yi Chen kept to his promise. When Yi Chen asked him where he wanted it, Zi Han directly pulled up Yi Chen’s t-shirt resulting in loud heckles from the onlookers. Zi Han only managed to lift Yi Chen’s t-shirt to his waist before he was stopped.

Yi Chen leaned down his eyes dark and unclear. With their cheeks almost touching Yi Chen asked, “What do you want to do?”
